05/03/2004: "Its a wrap...."
We closed Macbeth on Saturday night, after an entire weekend of sold-out shows. Its sad to have to turn people away at the door because the theatre is full, but then again, it also feels great!!! The show was great, and although I didn't get a mention, this is the first show I have been in that has got a serious review. There was lots of fun character development through the run of the show, both on and off stage. We also had a lucky-mascot (a cockroach) to help us out. All in all, great fun, and my first Shakespeare to put on my resume.
With a short break (one day!), I am now preparing myself for the next show, Goner, in which I will be playing Dr. Warren Wyandotte. This will be a challenging show - comedy is always tricky, and there are several scenes that the director describes as "ping-pong" - each character has a line of just a few words, and then it is on to the next character. No time for pausing or remembering lines, its going to be snappy! Its a great cast too, so I am anticipating another fun show!
