02/23/2004: "Support the arts..."

Well, its begging season again. Renegade Theatre Experiments annual
fundraiser will be held this Saturday night, February 28th. These
are the guys I did sin with last year, and I have just been
cast in their upcoming performance of Macbeth, which will be
presented at the City Lights Theatre.

They are a relatively new theatre company, dedicated to providing theatre that is somewhat edgy and different. Their season this year includes a West Coast premiere (Goner), a world Premiere (Conserving Melissa), and a version of Macbeth that should knock your socks off...

There will be drinks and dinner provided at the fundraiser, as well as entertainment, and dancing - promises to be a great night! For more details, take a look here.

For those of you interested, I will be playing several roles in Macbeth - The Porter, Seyton, The Sergeant, English Doctor, and Old Man. That should keep me busy! I will also be assistant directing "Conserving Melissa" later in the year, my first real experience of the directorial side of theatre.

Macbeth, held at City Lights Theatre:
Opens: April 15th
Closes: May 1st

Conserving Melissa, held at the Benson Theatre, at Bellarmine College
Opens: Jul 30
Closes: Aug 14

Busy times, I will also be filming parts of the second instalment of "Parabola of the Third", an independent film in which I play "Chester the Alchemist". Due to budget reasons (i.e. they have almost none!), the complete piece is being shot in three parts. I featured only briefly in part one, but will be more in evidence in parts two and three.

Finally, I also have some more voice-over work to do for Penfolds, although that seems to be an on-again/off-again situation... Now, if I could only make all this work pay, I could become a full-time actor! LOL
